A.Avella (Fra) won the last step of the 2014 World Skate Cross Series, held in the SMP skatepark, in Shanghai, China. He was the fastest on the very fast, high and challenging track going around the SMP. Starting in second position behind F.Du Peloux (Fra), he could manage to pass him after the drop in the medium bowl, and kept his position until the finish line. Sim WanSu (Kor) and I.Sukhenko (Rus), fell on the first obstacle and couldn't come back on the 2 other skaters, finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.
M.Monneron (Fra), won the final race of the season, her 5th victory this year. Her main rival on this race, I.Davydova (Rus), not far in the time trials, did a bad start in the final and couldn't come back on the 2 first skaters, finishing at the 3rd place. J.Billard (Fra) did a good race and took the second place. Italian F.Conzi, finished at the 4th place and couldn't fight against the 3 best women of the season.
Thanks to their victory in Shanghai, Anthony Avella (Fra) and Mathilde Monneron (Fra) won their second World Champion title in a row, finishing their season perfectly. Flavien Du Peloux (Fra), who was 4th in 2013, could improve his results with a very constant season and finished on the second step of the final ranking, in front on Antony Pottier (Bel) who couldn't fight in the finals as he injured during the trainings runs, it was still a very good season for him, with 2 victories.
Jessica Billard (Fra) confirmed her second place of 2013 ; she improved her speed this year but couldn't beat M.Monneron. I.Davydova (Rus) took the 3rd place this year, and could become the main rival of the world champion next year if she can taka part in more races and get more experience.
